Navagio Beach is definitely the most beautiful beach on the island of Zakynthos and perhaps one of the most interesting in the whole of Greece. Accessible only by sea, it is a natural paradise recognized and for this reason it has become one of the most photographed beaches in the world.

Navagio Beach

Navagio Beach is certainly one of the most photographed beaches in the world, as well as the cover image of many tourist brochures. The photo of the beach appeared in magazines, guides, sites and has become a kind of icon of Greece and the Mediterranean Sea. But the fact that it is one of the most photographed beaches in the world is not just a guess. The money.co.uk platform has created a somewhat peculiar ranking: based on the most photographed coasts on social media per square meter, it has developed a top 20 of the most photographed beaches on social media and, in particular, on Instagram. Navagio Beach is placed in fifth place and, adding up all the photos taken on social media and the many times it appeared in the leaflets, you could say that Zakynthos beach is probably the most photographed in the world.

# Italy is no less impressive

Leaving aside Navagio Beach for a moment and dwelling on the money.co.uk ranking, also some Italian beaches are in the top 20. The beach of Tropea, the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, is placed in fourth place among the most photographed beaches on social media with its wonderful village of the Coast of the Gods and in the second part of the ranking we also find the wonderful Sardinia with Cala Goloritzè.

Navagio Beach seems a swimming pool and has white sand, but first of all it is known as the wreck beach because of the ruins of a boat wrecked in 1983, still present on the bay. Navagio, in fact, means “shipwreck” , a particular name to identify that somehow the attraction of the beach is this boat of cigarette smugglers.

The island of Zakynthos is well aware of the beauty of Navagio Beach, especially from above. In fact, just above the beach a viewpoint with a railing so as not to lean too far was created. Here you can admire all the beauty of the turquoise water and the white beach.
