A new skyscraper will house a real suspended horizontal forest. Where will the rival of the Vertical Forest stand out?

After Bosco Verticale comes the FOREST IN THE SKY

After the success that the Milanese Bosco Verticale has found all over the world, another architectural jewel arrives that mixes innovation with pure nature: the Horizontal Forest of the Empire City Hotel. Where will the rival of the skyscraper awarded in 2015 as “the most beautiful and innovative in the world” be built?

This wonderful horizontal forest will be hosted by the Empire City Hotel, which is just one of the three buildings that will make up the Empire City project. The city that will see its skyline revolutionized is Ho Chi Minh, one of the symbols of Vietnam. The three skyscrapers will rise above a large mountain-shaped podium, built on a garden peninsula in the center of the Saigon River.

The nature that will characterize the peninsula will contrast, at alternating heights, with modernity: in fact the highest tower – 333 meters – will host the large Horizontal Forest with a variety of local plant species and water features, all at a breathtaking height.

# A mixed-use peninsula where nature and modernity, relaxation and business meet

These more than 300 meters of building with its 88 floors will be the site of the most coveted hotel in Ho Chi Minh, some residences and a public observation deck. The summit was designed to become a “Cloud Space”, a space in the clouds from which to observe the panorama and enjoy the recreational activities and events on offer. The other two smaller skyscrapers, if small they can be defined, will instead be used as offices and residential spaces.

Multi-storey co-working areas will mix with commercial and recreational ones, to create a mixed-use peninsula where not only nature meets modernity but relaxation mixes with business, and the public intersects with the private.

The opening date of the hotel, and therefore also of the horizontal forest, has not yet been confirmed but a boom in bookings and tourists is already expected.
