# Gera Lario, one of the least considered pearls of Como Lake
On the border between the Province of Como and the Province of Sondrio, on the extreme tip of Como Lake, there is a small town, not very considered compared to the most famous villages, but just as suggestive: Gera Lario. It is one of the most beautiful corners in Italy, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view overlooking the lake, and where one of the most spectacular trekking routes in the whole Country.
# The trekking route with one of the most spectacular panoramic viewpoints in Italy
The path is suitable for all ages and has a difference in height of 700 meters arriving on Mount Berlinghera at an altitude of 1,930 meters, one of the most beautiful panoramic balconies that exist in Italy.From the top of the Lepontine Alps, where you can see the remains of a chapel dedicated to the Alpine soldiers, you can admire in fact: the spectacular view of the Lario, the emerald waters of the small lake Mezzola separated from Lake Como by the river Mera, the Chiavenna Valley, the Pian di Spagna, the impressive Mount Legnone, which is the highest peak in the province of Lecco with its 2,609 meters, and all the peaks surrounding Como Lake.
The route is made of off-road and mule tracks, crosses oak, fir, beech forests and highlands, crosses small churches and stone lodges, the Alpe di Mezzo and the Alpe Pescedo, and takes about 2 hours to reach the end.
# The giant panoramic swing with lake view
One of the most beautiful views of this journey is the one you can admire sitting and swinging on a giant panoramic swing made of wood placed at 1,600 meters high. To try this experience, you have to follow the indications heading to Bocchetta di Chiaro and it will be easy to find it.
# The way to get it
After having covered the State Road 340 up to Gera Lario, arrived at the bridge that crosses San Vincenzo torrent, follow the indications for Bugiallo. At this point you continue for 3 km uphill until you reach a fork, where you turn right and continue the narrow but paved way that leads to San Bartolomeo. Here, at about 12 km from Gera Lario, you will find the namesake church of San Bartolomeo and the parking lot where you can leave your car and continue foot along this exciting path in the nature
