# An inebriating journey
Through the villages, hills, vineyards and wines of the Veneto region, it is possible to make an alternative pilgrimage. Accompanying this trip is the magnificent Italian nature and the flavors of its grapes. The Bardolino Way crosses the Venetian territories of Lake Garda, where Bardolino Doc is produced, a certified wine, the vineyards of which can be visited along the way. The richness of the journey is linked to the natural environment, to the adventure of embarking on a journey on foot or by bicycle, tasting the products of Italian nature. The search for oneself, the goal of the Camino de Santiago, is partly neglected along the Bardolino: the goal is to spend a pleasant time wrapped in relaxation and without ruminating too much on existential problems.
# The most suitable path
The new cycle/pedestrian path on the eastern shore of Lake Garda is 100 km long and descends from the Venetian hills to the lake. The path can be covered in stages of variable length between 3 and 20 km, depending on your physical level and the concentration of activity in the different sections of the road. The municipalities involved in the maintenance and planning of the route are Bardolino, Garda, Rivoli Veronese, Costermano, Affi and Cavaion Veronese. Through which 18 different routes pass, mapped and signposted, connected by a mobile application, which provides precise information on road sections and rest areas.
# Not just beaches
The goal of the journey is to enhance the local wine product, the quality of Bardolino DOC, more than sixty wineries have been involved in the tourist initiative that promote their product, illustrating the processing and care in maintaining the vineyards. Through wine, the culture, history and economy of the Veneto hinterland are also enhanced, which proves to be able to accommodate tourists, at least as much as the bathing establishments located on the lake. The beauty of the landscape and the richness of the wine and gastronomic quality offered highlight a different aspect of the region, which deserves to be valued.
