The works for the construction of the Merdeka PNB 118 skyscraper are about to be completed. With its 680 meters, it will become the tallest building in Malaysia, taking away the primacy of the Petronas Towers, and it will be the second highest in the world.

Out of a total of 118 floors, 83 are dedicated to premium office spaces, while the luxurious Park Hyatt hotel will take up residence on the highest floors, with about 250 rooms and suites, designed to enjoy the unique panoramic views of the city’s skyline.

Designed by the engineering firm Arup, drafted by architect Fender Katsalidis, the investment for the construction of Merdeka PNB 118 was about 730 million euros.

The name assigned to the new skyscraper, Merdeka, has a special meaning. The origin of the Indonesian and Malaysian word means “independent” or “free” and comes from the Sanskrit Maharddhika meaning “rich, prosperous and powerful”. This term, in the Malaysian archipelago, had assumed the meaning of freed slave.

My name is Laura and I live in Italy with my husband, 2 gorgeous daughters and Spritz…our little dog…he is part of the family too :-) As a mum I try to be the best example for my daughters, we like to spend time together and we share a passion: we love playing the piano! They know I am always there for them and can talk about anything – this is one of things in my life I am so proud of. I am a very strong woman who works professionally with a positive approach and mindset and never gives up. I am also very detailed oriented (thanks also to my criminology degree back at the Uni) and like helping others and guide them to a more positive lifestyle-approach and support them through difficulties. I like challenges and I am always keen on learning and improve myself. I believe this is the reason why I am so excited about this new adventure with the group!
