#1 The “Tower One” of the Four Frankfurt project will be the tallest skyscraper in Germany with its 233 meters

Tower One of the Four Frankfurt project, consisting of four mixed-use skyscrapers under construction in Frankfurt, will have a height of 233 meters, making it the tallest building in the city and in all of Germany. Located in the area known as the Deutsche Bank Triangle in the Innenstadt district, the entire complex will have offices for around 4,000 people and 600 residential apartments, of which a part in subsidized housing, as well as shops and restaurants. The planned investment is around one billion euros and should be completed in 2023.

#2 The One, with a height of 338 meters, will be the first “supertall” and the tallest building in Canada

The One is a skyscraper currently under construction in Toronto, Canada, located in the Yorkville neighborhood at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor. As defined by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, its 338 meters high will make it the first “supertall” and the tallest building in the country. There will be 85 floors in total and should be inaugurated between 2022 and 2023. To date, it is also the tallest residential building under construction outside Asia.

Dubai is preparing to celebrate a new record. In 2023 “Ciel Tower” will be completed which, with its 366 meters in height, will be the tallest hotel building in the world. Built according to the plans of the London-based architecture firm NORR in the Dubai Marina district, it features a sculptural design with tapers at the top and bottom of the skyscraper, a silver-colored facade and short recesses at the top of the building where there will be a bar and an infinity pool. Inside there will be over 1,042 rooms, including 150 suites, spread over 82 floors.

#4 Iconic Tower, the highest skyscraper in Africa with 385.8 meters inspired by the obelisk of the pharaohs (Egypt)

In 2023 the “Iconic Tower” will officially be the tallest skyscraper in Africa. Once the construction of the structure is completed, this building under construction in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt has a height of 385.8 meters and includes 80 floors, which will mostly be for office use. The project is inspired by the shape of an obelisk from the time of the pharaohs with a glass exterior representing the feathers of the Egyptian god Raa Crown.

After the demolition of the old headquarters in early 2021, JP Morgan Chase began work to create the replacement headquarters. The new skyscraper is part of the East Midtown redevelopment plan and was designed by the British architecture firm Foster + Partnerssede. The building will house over 15,000 employees, will be 434 meters high and will have 70 floors. The total investment is 3 billion dollars and at its inauguration scheduled for 2024 it will become the fourth tallest skyscraper in New York.

#6 Legacy Tower, the first anti-pandemic skyscraper (USA)

At the Miami Worldcenter, in the United States of America, the Legacy Tower is under construction: the first anti-pandemic skyscraper, equipped to combine housing needs with health services and technologies. It rises up to 182 meters on 55 floors, with 310 apartments and a hotel with 219 rooms, and in the course of construction it has been redesigned to be useful in the event of a new pandemic. Inside the structure, ten floors have been planned to be dedicated to an innovative medical center with advanced health services and technologies, among which there will be: a laboratory specialized in diagnostic prevention, operating theaters and rooms for the hospitalization of patients, equipped rooms with tools for ultrasound imaging, mammography, x-rays, magnetic resonance and CT scans and a pharmacy.

#7 Merdeka PNB 118, the second tallest skyscraper in the world thanks to its 680 meters (Malaysia)

Merdeka PNB 118 is currently the tallest skyscraper under construction, whose structure and facades have already been completed, and which is expected to open at the end of 2022. 680 meters high by 118 floors, it will become the tallest building in the Malaysia, taking away the primacy of the Petronas Towers, and the second tallest in the world. The skyscraper will have 83 floors dedicated to premium office space, while the top floors will be occupied by the luxurious Park Hyatt hotel with approximately 250 rooms and suites. The origin of the word “Merdeka” in Indonesian and Malay means “independent” or “free” and derives from the Sanskrit maharddhika which means “rich, prosperous and powerful”.
