# Hong Kong has lost more than 131,000 residents in just two months

The City State of Hong Kong continues to lose residents, in just two months between February and March there was a drop of more than 131.000, and it looks like this trend is set to continue for a considerable time. According to an online survey conducted by the Bartra company in mid-March among a sample of about 500 residents over the age of 18, emerges that 79% of those surveyed are considering emigration or will consider it, for 48% it could occur in the future, while 31% were considering it.

Among the top reasons citizens in the Asian metropolis might leave, once again according to the survey, are at 51% a better living environment, 29% seeking better education for their children, and 27% getting additional residency and foreign nationality.

# The total number of millionaires falldown

The number of millionaires is also falling. The “Hong Kong Multi-millionaire Survey Report 2021” compiled by CityBank shows that residents with a total net worth of Hk$10 million, roughly equivalent to Hk$1.211 million or more, and liquid assets of at least Hk$1 million, has dropped by 15% and thus by about 81,000.
