It’s true: there is no limit to luxury and human ingenuity to create it or reach it. No criticism, just a fact. This time it is the creativity of a man called Thierry Gaugain who designed a so unthinkable train that seems come out from a science fiction film, perhaps from a futuristic one or directly from a cartoon.
THE PALACE on RAILS: a 350 million dollar glass train
# The 5 star train: more beautiful than a luxury hotel
G Train
G Train is the name of the luxury train that is worth 350 million euros and will be 400 meters long for 14 cars. A super luxurious glass train with a restaurant, a spa, a gym and a cinema. The cabins will be made of “smart” glass that can switch from transparent to opaque and even black. This is a train that can travel up to 160 kilometers per hour and, once stopped, the carriages can open and become panoramic terraces overlooking the landscapes that meet along the way. And to top it all off, thanks to the new technologies passengers can change atmosphere simply by touching a button, which will automatically modify the interior. What’s more? In the 5-star super train there will be a garden.
# It will be built for a single owner
G Train
The peculiarity of the train, which would be better called absurdity, is that it was conceived for a single owner. French inventor Thierry Gaugain has already designed Steve Jobs’s super luxurious yatch, therefore he knows what it means to create something luxurious. The designer believes that the G Train is only for those who do not perceive the train only as a simple means of transport. In addition, the owner can accommodate only 17-18 people, because this is the maximum capacity of a 400 meters and 14 coaches train. In other words, the G train is a super exclusive train destined to be tried only by the richest. A so particular convoy was conceived as a “building on rails”: you enter into a hall, then there is the residential area of the owner and a room for his free time, there is also an area for guests, a social room and a space for receptions.
# You need a person willing to make it
G Train
G Train will be able to travel on both European and American railways. The designer believes that at a time when there is too much focus on speed and wanting to reach the destination as soon as possible, the journey could become even more beautiful. Everything can be said about the new design of this building on rails except that it is not spectacular. What’s the problem? You need to find a “fool” like the designer who is willing to pay $350 million for the actual realization of G Train, because for now, in fact, the G Train is just an idea with some rendering.
